On 03 February 2017, Economic Researches Center (ERC), jointly with Entrepreneurship Development Foundation (EDF), organized a round table in Baku to discuss the findings of the monitoring report on "Towards a Highly Competitive Economy," one of the directions of the Development Concept "Azerbaijan - 2020: Outlook for the Future." The report was prepared by Gubad Ibadoghlu, ERC Expert/Economist, within the framework of the Project “Discussion Platform for Promoting Development in Azerbaijan,” which was implemented by the EDF in partnership with the Center of Support for Economic Initiatives, the Center for Economic and Social Development and Economic Researches Center under the financial support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
The event was opened by Galib Toghrul, ERC Chairman. Zahir Ahmadov, Representative of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, and Sabit Baghirov, EDF President, delivered the welcome address and briefed on the Project.
Gubad Ibadoghlu reported the findings of the monitoring and answered the questions from the floor. The presentation was followed by an interactive discussion. Galib Toghrul and Sabit Baghirov made closing remarks.
The meeting was attended by experts, economists, representatives from the local NGOs, and the Swiss Embassy in Azerbaijan.
