July 11, 2014. Today the Round Table on the theme of “Improvement of Import/Export operations” was held by the Economic Research Center and the Entrepreneurship Development Foundation in the conference room of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers’) Organizations of Azerbaijan Republic within the framework of the project “Micro-Enterprise Support” implemented by the Entrepreneurship Development Foundation with the financial support of USAID.

The round table was attended by entrepreneurs who deal with import/export operations, representatives of NGOs, audit and consulting companies, representatives of relevant ministries, and other organizations and experts.

In the opening of the event, participants were welcomed by Mr. Sabit Bagirov – the Chairman of the EDF and Ms. Natavan Mammadova – the Secretary-General of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers’) Organizations of Azerbaijan Republic.

Thereafter, Gubad Ibadoglu – expert of ERC reported on the theme of “Proposals of Public Unions for the improvement of customs procedures” regarding “On measures for the development of entrepreneurship” the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated March 3, 2014. After the report, discussions were held on the subject.

Thereafter, the following questions were clarified in the free discussion moderated by Mr. Sabit Bagirov:

1. Length of periods of the border detention for vehicles in some cases;
2. Requirements of Euro 4 standards;
3. Improvement directions of electronic registration;
4. Hotline Service;
5. Full powers of the official of the Committee and other issues.

The Round Table was concluded with the closing speech of Mr. Sabit Bagirov – chairman of the EDF.
